Project Achievements

Flanagan Consulting Group identified several opportunities to modify the provided concept design to deliver a better value for money proposition with respect to the understood project objectives. These opportunities included:

  • Maximising accessibility of the ramp under tidal and flood conditions through modification of the ramp toe and crest levels
  • Replacement of precast concrete panels with a more cost-efficient cast in-situ solution
  • Replacement of grouted rock batter protection with cast in-situ concrete to provide a more practical construction solution
  • Modification of the carpark layout to allow a more practical drive-in drive-out movement for car and trailer parking
  • Vertical separation of the barrage and boat ramp accesses to maintain road train accessibility to the barrage whilst lifting the boat ramp access above seasonal flood waters
